Chocolate Chip Scones

This recipe is from James Villas' Biscuit Bliss. I decided to try almond milk instead of regular milk this time, as well as my usual use of oil instead of butter. Very nice!

Blueberry-Almond Scones (with dried blueberries)

This recipe is from James Villas' Biscuit Bliss. The scones are based on the recipe for chocolate chip scones, with the dried blueberries instead of the chips. Also, I was trying out some almond milk at the time, so I used that here in place of the regular milk. With my usual habit of using oil instead of butter, these scones are vegan. I really liked the very blueberry-y flavor from the dried fruit, and it was easy to use with these scones. (Normally, I use frozen blueberries for muffins, but I don't think they'd work so well here.) A success!

Masala Chai Pear Scone

This recipe is from a Binjal's Veg Kitchen recipe. I added about 1/2 tsp baking soda, just to be on the safe side with the yogurt included in the scones. Canned sliced pears made measuring and chopping the fruit, a breeze. After they were baked and cooled, I enjoyed a scone or two for dinner. Delicious!

Almond Buttermilk Scones

#tbt : The recipe is from Biscuit Bliss by James Villas. The original recipe called for walnuts, which for some reason I don't like, so I substituted ground almonds. (For the buttermilk, I used a mixture of half-yogurt/half-water.) Delicious!
